چکیده
This study derives from the need to evaluate the impact on the urban air quality of two-wheeler vehicular class. Mopeds and motorcycles, in fact, are increasingly used in recent years, representing a great share of motor-powered vehicles in urban environment. This paper is finalized at the examination of the emissions of the last generation motorcycles, contributing broadly to extend knowledge of twowheeler emission behavior, with reference to cold and hot operating conditions. For this aim, an experimental investigation was performed on a medium-size motorcycle belonging to the Euro-3 statutory category, evaluating the exhaust emissions of regulated pollutants. This scooter was tested on a dynamometer bench both on a type approval test cycle and on real-world test cycles in order to study the influence of driving cycles on the emission levels. The statistical processing results of the experimental data were compared with recent emission models for estimating emissions from road traffic.

متن کاملEmissions of Euro 3-5 Passenger Cars Measured Over Different Driving Cycles
The reduction in vehicle exhaust emissions achieved in the last two decades is offset by the growth in traffic, as well as by changes in the composition of emitted pollutants. The present investigation illustrates the emissions of in-use gasoline and diesel passenger cars using the official European driving cycle and the ARTEMIS real-world driving cycle. It was observed that some of the vehicle...
متن کاملInvestigating the Impact of Driving Cycle on 3-way Catalyst Degradation and Emission Characteristics of ICEV
Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles or ICEVs play a major role in air pollution for big cities like Tehran. Catalyst converters manage to contain much of the generated pollution from combustion and are considered as a mandatory part of any vehicle. Manufacturer guidelines clarify a certain mileage for catalyst to be regarded as completely degraded and thus unable to contain harmful gasses from ...

The quick growth of vehicles is due to fast urbanization in mega cities during last decades. This phenomenon has serious impacts on air quality, as emission from mobile vehicles is the major source of air pollution. As a result, any attempt to reduce the emitted air pollutants is needed. This study aims at improving the fuel quality in transporting system with particular emphasis on taxis in Te...
